I'm planning to install OSQA in one domain and use different subdomains (16+) for diverse topics (like StackExchange network):

jokes.mydomain.com
quotes.mydomain.com
sayings.mydomain.com

and so on.

The main domain (www.mydomain.com) is intended to display questions from these different subdomains. Also a registered user in any subdomain can sign/log in and share his account information (like StackExchange network does). Desirable to show featured/high-rated/most-viewed questions between subdomains.

Is it possible with OSQA? How can I do that?

If is possible I'd like to not have duplicated databases/tables/data. If is not possible: Does exist an open source/commercial option to do all what I need?

By the way, I'm considering webfaction by its OSQA install script. Does this script can save me hours of setup? or do I have to do all manually?

This may be something better suited for Qato than for OSQA. Qato naturally comes with multi-site (as part of a network) functionality built-in. It also contains an additional grouping mechanism called Spaces. While it's not really exposed in the UI yet, questions could be pushed to more than one site fairly easily. Take a look at http://answers.qato.com and http://demo.qato.com for more info and examples. You will likely have a hard time doing this with OSQA (or potentially any other product out there!)
