Is there a plan to offer linked meta sites?

I would like to setup a meta site, and have it linked to the main site. When I say "linked", I mean things like

common open id login (no need to create a meta account)
common notificaiton system. If you're logged in to main, and someone replied to your meta question, you should get a newq message notification.

Are you planning a feature like this? Is there an ETA?
