For Python/Django, OSQA seems a good way to go for community Q/A. But I wonder what sites are powered by OSQA and also have high traffic? |

Hi John. We're powering sites such as Ask.sqlservercentral.com and lockergnome.net with OSQA and those are fairly high traffic. With the proper memcache configuration, it should be pretty lightweight. What is considered high-traffic for you? :) In the first site, Ask.sqlservercentral.com, the 30th message dates from 4 days ago. On the second one, lockergnome.net, the 30th message dates from 4 hours ago. Comparing with stackoverflow.com where the 30th message dates from 4 minutes ago, that's not the same range of high traffic!

@Didier, it doesn't seem that matt is making any type of comparison with SO. But since you need a comparison, lockergnome.net in the first two weeks of existence, in certain periods had a very high trafic, since the person who launched has many followers. I don't know the numbers of SO so I can't compare, but if you like to measure in seconds from the 30th message, in that time, it was always 0 or 1 seconds ago, in the 30th question. probably half of the questions and answers in that site were posted in the first weekend.

And btw, that site was/is sitting in a single server running a few more sites.

Thanks for your answers Hernâni, they are very insightful. Delay of the 30th message was an easy way for me to compare from the outside. I admit I have doubts on the figure of 0-1 sec you give, it seems much too small (28k msg/answ in a week-end 180ks gives a msg/answ every 7 seconds, i.e. the 30th message dates 5 minutes ago on average.) But this is in the range of SO. Plus it is handled on a single server. Great!

Well, believe it or not, that is the trth. And I said half those questions were in the first weekend (two days). Is easy to find evidences of that in the site. See the karma history of the highest ranked users in the site for example.
