As I commented in the other thread, after reconsidering, I think a stable release should be first priority. GAE can come later...

I've actually done a fair amount of work on this. It's much harder than it sounds :) The GAE datasource is limited in its types of queries. That said, I've gotten signup, posting questions, answering, commenting, voting, etc to all pretty much work. If you're interested, email matt at dzone.com and I'll be happy to explain more.

Google are in beta with a mysql based relational database, http://googleappengine.blogspot.com/2011/10/google-cloud-sql-your-database-in-cloud.html . I'd be interested in which areas of the code needed altering outside of the database queries.
