What is the difference between a validated email and a not validated email (besides that the person clicked the link)?

If someone has an unvalidated email, do they still get notifications?

[I ask because a lot of my users have unvalidated emails, because of broken links]

yes, if the email is valid they will still get notifications. There are settings in the admin panel that can limit users without a valid email activity.

now, I would like clarify to the other users that Joseph has broken links because he insists on using the software in a strange way. It's kind of boring to have so many bug reports and problems that don't even belong here but rather on the django bug tracker, since it's their force script alias thing that does not work prpoperly and generates the urls depending on wind speed and climate conditions in laponia.

I think that if the email is not validated we should not send any email to it.

Otherwise our servers will start generating bounces and we will enter in anti-spam lists.

Hernani, do you mean if the email is valid but not validated they still get emails? That's good for me.

Also, Hernani, since you understand this issue better, can you file the Django bug?

How can you know if the email is valid if it has not been validated?

superusers can see it in the user profile next to the user email
