So we're already planning the migration in a few days. We would like to be able to setup the site before pointing it to our existing domain so as to minimize the down time. Here's a quick checklist of what do:

  • Follow the instructions on Installing OSQA on WebFaction
  • Copy custom theme to correct directory
  • Apply logo and favicon
  • Optionally configure sidebar content with your own
  • Create a dump file of the SX site under/exports/create
  • Import the dump file of the SX site - How?
  • Point the OSQA app to the domain - How exactly?

This is a good idea, Randell. Let me know how I can help. Also, this would probably be something to edit on the OSQA wiki rather than here. Anyway, we'll be happy to help you with your migration.

That would be great! We have scheduled our migration on June 11, 2010 at 22:00 GMT +8:00.
