It sounds like they should be working in the codebase. It would be very helpful if we could see them working here on this site. Thanks!

Yes, we will enable both badges and notifications on this demo site when we do a forthcoming update. We will also probably move the site to meta.osqa.net in order to have the main OSQA site better describe the project and provide easy access to news and information about it and abut sites using OSQA.

Just an update - badges are now fully operational on meta.osqa.net

Yes, we expect to enable them over the weekend. This site is being moved to a different hostname and server (it'll become meta.osqa.net) and updated to the new codebase and migrated from mysql to postgresql. We'll enable badges and email notifications as part of the migration.

BTW, this move has been completed as of yesterday, March 6th.

  1. Does postgresql have any advantages over mysql for osqa? (rickross mentioned db switch)

  2. Why can't I post a comment in this question?

  1. Some people say postgresql has better full-text search. (Your question really should be a top-level question in its own right, not a comment.)

  2. The karma system blocks people with low scores from posting. It is too strict right now, and we're working on it.
