How can the administrator change a screen name?
If I edit the database directly, will this cause problems?

In the administrator's interface, in User Settings, enable "Editable screen name".
Then, the administrator (or the user!) can change their screen name.

As of SVN-267, the admin user can view/edit and user's profile just as he/she does.
