I can't log in to this site, because I have my own OpenID, http://tqft.net/, and I want to use it. Of course it just delegates to somewhere else, and I could log in that way, but I don't want to. Can we have a text box for entering arbitrary OpenID URLs? |

Unless something is borked, you should be able to use any compliant OpenID provider to authenticate in OSQA. We are currently reworking the entire auth/login system to support Facebook, Twitter and other non-OpenID options. In the course of doing this, we will also be restyling the form elements where you can enter various OpenID credentials and/or your own OpenID login URL. It will be much more prominent and obvious. |

Oops, I discovered that you can login with an OpenID, it just wasn't sufficiently obvious for me, because I didn't know that one of the small icons in the second row allowed you to enter an arbitrary URL. hmm, you have a good point though - we must have clear tip messages so that users don't have to be puzzled about things like this one

Delegated openids are rewritten to point to their destination when in fact they should not be rewritten at all. I added my own delegated openid to http://answers.semanticweb.com/ but I can't use it to login, since the site now thinks my openid is blablabla.myopenid.com. |
The OpenID URL entry input box is being restyled today. It will probably be a lot more obvious when you see it.
