I think this is important to let users unsubscribe from notifications in an easy way.

Isn't the real solution to this to place these important subscription prefs in a more obvious place on the user's profile? Honestly, they are almost hidden right now, and users are not interested in playing "hide-and-seek" when they want to make a change.

We should make these settings (and the tools to change them) a LOT more obvious in OSQA.

I agree with you in that these settings should be more visible in the user page. But we also need the "unsubscribe/modify subscription" link in the email footers.
