We at Draw3Cards won't migrate yet, because we just got an extension from three months to a year, and even though OSQA has some interesting features, it's still less mature than Stack Exchange.

When answering, please state if you're doing this by choice (because you believe OSQA is better than SE), or because Stack Exchange terminated your site.

I would also be interested to know the answer to this. It's useful in enticing communities to adopt the OSQA platform.

Well, it would be silly not to mention the StackExchange site that was the original motivation for launching the OSQA project: HomeschoolHelpDesk.com. (here's the backstory) And yes, the reason we chose to migrate was that we knew we could build something better, more versatile and more open than StackExchange.

Keep your eyes on OSQA, @ripper234, because I think you'll see a project that thrives. We may need badges, but we don't need "no steenking extensions!" (lame reference to the inimitable Mr. Clint Eastwood)

I will definitely do :)

I just don't want to be the first early adopter here, I have too much riding on my site. We've built a successful site at Draw3Cards, and I want to keep it evolving - but before comitting to a major re-haul like this, I want to know where the wind is blowing.

I migrated Cash Commons over to OSQA because my SE site is set to expire shortly and I'd rather not have the content evaporate.

I'm thankful for the continuity that OSQA has provided, especially with the sximporter tool.

I look forward to learning how to customize the look and feel of the site.

What's Cash Commons (can you provide an updated link), and how is it different from Basically Money?

The link above goes to the new site.

Cash Commons and Basically Money both cover the subject of personal finance and money.

We have migrated NullPointer.ph from SX to OSQA on WebFaction. We still have 2 other sites that we're going to migrate but we don't have the time to do so. We simply created an export of the data yesterday so can import it on OSQA later on.

We migrated because we saw the our SX sites will eventually be owned by somebody else other than us, or at least not have the full control that we want, even if we got an extension. The model of SX 2.0 simply didn't fit with our plans compared to when it was still in SX 1.0.

OSQA gives us the flexibility to host our site anywhere and make the changes that we want, although right now we're still dependent on the OSQA devs to push the features and fixes. Since OSQA is open-source, I believe it will eventually receive more help from interested developers.

Thinking more about it, if SX and OSQA started at the same time, we'd still probably go with OSQA since it is open-source.
