The refugee program sounds great, but I'm somewhat worried that it might turn out like another Stack Exchange 2.0 (screw you when you're already there and helped them build the entire thing). Free hosting sounds good, but it would also be nice to be able to actually run it on our paid reliable-and-won't-screw-you-over hosts.

Well, we can certainly understand "once burned, twice shy" as a sentiment, and it is definitely not our desire to turn anyone into permanent refugees! We'll try to get in touch with WebFaction and some of the other popular hosting spots to see what arrangements we can make to simplify the whole process.

Update on 4/14/10: We had a great talk yesterday with the owner of WebFaction, and he expects to implement a 1-click WebFaction installer for OSQA shortly after we release our upcoming 0.6 (Fantasy Island) build. At $9.50 per month his hosting seems very reasonable.

It would be great if the migration from your host to the other web host can be flawless. Also, please let us know if you've contacted those web hosts already. Many thanks!

For Django-friendly hosts, visit DjangoFriendly.com (of all things!)

WebFaction is at the top of the list by a wide margin.
