I read through a previous question: OSQA and shared hosting? I got the feel that it was not impossible but inefficient. I also got the feel from the creator of AskBot.org that he would be able to help me. But I decided whichever app supported me quicker would be the best one to use. My hosting says something that wasn't mention in the last question: Django is not supported. Does this make it impossible? If not, can someone help me or give a contact where I can get more of a walkthrough? Any information is greatly appreciated. -Sam

Unfortunately it seems that JustHost is not friendly to python and Django, so you'd probably have a very difficult time getting OSQA (or any Django application) running there. We're happy to try to help you get things moving on a server which supports the basic requirements,. If JustHost has decided not to support those basic requirements, then there's almost nothing we can do. There's a list of django-friendly hosting providers at DjangoFriendly.com and more information at the Django project site. 1
I have looked at the django-friendly hosting providers. But, I already paid for 3 years of hosting, and I don't want to pay for 2 hosting accounts when I already have unlimited space with JustHost. Thanks though, script looks great.

If your hosting provider says "Django is not supported", there isn't really a lot we can do with it, OSQA needs django to run. In the last question we weren't aware that justhost did not support django, but the author of the question also adopted by another host in the end. About the markup, yes, is a known bug and is being fixed as we speak. We're preparing a stable release and that bug is on the list to be fixed before that. |

i can't understand why poeple recommend others to join justhost and how can they be the number one its ridiculus i had a very bad experience with them . just this morning ia had a very bad surprise that my account has been bloked and when i had access to it i have all websites data that my account hold are GOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNEeeeeeeeee if you want to have a cryzy and very bad moment you can go for it but don't tell that we did'nt told you |
Also as you can see I used mark ups including link, italics, and bold. Even though they showed up in the preview and were formatted correctly the mark ups didn't transfer through. A known bug?
I saw that there were some
tags interspersed between the paragraphs with Markdown. When I edited those out, your Markdown formatting seemed to work correctly. We are tracking this issue down.
I did have to use
tags because in the preview line breaks didn't show up unless I used the tag.
We need to improve our Markdown help. When you want to insert a
break tag using Markdown, you end a line with two or more spaces, then type return.
Oh! Ya either choose a more known Markdown language, like BB Code or give more of a description on how to use it. Oh well, I like everything I've seen so far with your app.
Also, what does that '2' next to my last comment mean. It used to be a 1.
It means that your comment as a score of 2, it was "liked" 2 times.
Got it, thanks much!
